Home of the Waves: Conversations with Moonsorrow offers an unparalleled and candid look at one of the most respected and influential pagan metal bands. From the founders' childhood, through their early demo period, the gradual line-up additions and increasing touring activity, right through their extensive discography.
Built around exclusive and in-depth interviews with all band members – Ville Sorvali, Henri Sorvali, Marko Tarvonen, Mitja Harvilahti, Janne Perttilä, and what is probably the only interview with Markus Eurén – the book explores the band’s history, lyrical and visual themes, composition process, ideological background, technical details and much more.
Behind-the-scenes narrations and 150 images, including many never seen before photos.
Moonsorrow fanatic Grilo do Demo (the person behind the Unofficial Moonsorrow Biography, the Epic Heathen Podcast, the Verisivut Moonsorrow Fanzine and countless other Moonsorrow-related projects) and visual storyteller Leo Aragón joined forces to interview the band for two weeks, every day, with several sessions per day, together with a team who documented it all. Follow them on their journey across Finland, exploring the band's biography, lyrical and visual themes, composition process, ideological background, technical facts and much more.
The interviews were originally intended for a documentary that, due to a myriad of problems, was not yet released. However, that documentary will only use 2 hours of material – but the crew filmed interviews for 13 days, several hours per day. In addition to the interviews, you will find out how everything worked behind the scenes. How the team carried out the project, worked together with the Moonsorrow guys, the locations they took them to and their significance, and much more.
